2023 Signing Day Celebrates Student Athletes

– Arrybella has been part of the competition, fall & winter sideline cheer squads for 4 years.
– She is also an academic athlete award winner
– This year she was captain for Competition and Sideline cheer. She made the All-Region Team, and 1st Team All-State. She is a member of the 2nd Place Region Cheer Team, and sideline team that competed in Nationals at Disney this year.
– At GHS She has also been a part of Beta Club & Student Advisory Committee.
– Arrybella will be cheering in the position of base at Christopher Newport University and majoring in Biology. (GHS Athletic Department)
– Emily has been part of the jv cheer team for 2 years, and varsity for 3 years. She has been part of the competition, fall & winter sideline cheer squads and was a captain. She made the All-Region Team, and 2nd Team All State.
– She is a member of the 2nd Place Region Cheer Team, and sideline team that competed in Nationals at Disney this year.
– She is a member of the Providence Baptist Church Youth Program.
– Emily will be cheering in the position of base at Averett University majoring in Nursing. (GHS Athletic Department)
– Channy has been part of the GHS field hockey team since 8th grade, she is a 4-year varsity player. She has earned Peninsula District Player of the Year twice as well as All District 1st team, All Region 1st Team, All Region Player of the Year twice, All State 1st team 3 times, 1st Team All Tidewater twice, Peninsula Sports Club Player of the Year 2021 and NFHCA All-Academic Team and Recognized and NFHCA Player of the month September 2021. She holds the school record for the most goals scored in a season.
– Channy is a member of NHS and Beta, she is an academic athlete award winner.
– Channy will be attending St. Joseph’s University and majoring in Business Administration, and minor in real estate and interior design. (GHS Athletic Department)
– Jaylen has been a part of the JV & varsity football teams for 3 years. He has also been a member of the Indoor & Outdoor Track & Field Teams competing in shotput and discus for 3 years and a member of the varsity boys basketball team for 1 year. He earned recognition on the All-District Football Honorable Mention team.
– Jaylen will be attending Bluefield University playing Defensive Line and majoring in Sports Management. (GHS Athletic Department)
– Camden has been a part of the Baseball team playing 2 years JV and 3 years varsity. He has also been a member of the Golf team. He received baseball 1st team all-district honors as a junior.
– Camden will be attending William Peace University, playing shortstop and majoring in Business Management. (GHS Athletic Department)
