This is a continuation of the senior signing we had on April 20th. In this article, we are going to be talking about the students that signed for all kinds of sports. From track and field, to softball and soccer. We are so proud of all of our students who have made the decision to get out of their comfort zones. We also wanted to congratulate some of our students who have already done tryouts. If you have made the team, congratulations you’ve earned it.

First to come is Tanner Baker who is going to try out for the track and field and cross country at the University of Lynchburg. The University of Lynchburg is sending five of the students to the NCAA Division III national meet. The NCAA outdoor championships are scheduled for May 26-28. The University of Lynchburg’s track and field team also knocked two Old Dominion Athletic Conference outdoor championship records. This team has a lot of things going for it. Good luck Tanner Baker. We hope that you make the team and we wish you the best of luck.

The next student we have is James Riley who is going to Thomas Nelson Community College for baseball. The Thomas Nelson CC season will kick off their 2022 season under the leadership of the head baseball coach, Todd Baker. In 2016 Thomas Nelson became Virginia’s most recent community college to join the ranks and compete at the NJCAA level. It is also the Commonwealth’s fourth NJCAA baseball program. Thomas Nelson also competes at the NJCAA Division III collegiate baseball level. We know that when you go to Thomas Nelson that you will do great things once you make it there.

We have some students that are making the trip all the way up north. Cori Morgan will be making the trip to the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry for girls soccer. After the State University had a dominating regular season the Women’s soccer team officially secured the No. 2 seed. This was at the USCAA Division II National Championship in Virginia Beach. The team cleaned up the HVIAC during the conference final 10-1-1 by defeating Word of Life 9-0. This team will be gaining another great player. We wish you the best of luck with your tryouts.

Aj Goller will also be attending Christopher Newport University. However he will be there during the spring for boys soccer. The team had an outstanding run through during their 2021 postseason. They concluded their year ranked No. 11 in the final United Soccer Coaches Division III Top 25. In his third year head coach Justin Chezem has led CNU back to the national spotlight. The team finished the year with an overall record of 12-5-2. We hope to see you make the team when the time comes.

Once again, these are not all of the students that we have that signed to schools. So I would like to say congratulations to all of you that made a commitment to these schools and sports. I would also like to wish all of you luck at your tryouts. I hope you make the teams. You have all made the best decisions for schools that would work for each of you. These students are showing how committed they are to the schools of their choices. When the time comes I know all of you will do a great job to get what you want.
