The Homecoming parade for Gloucester High School took place on Thursday, October 7th on Main Street. The theme this year was ‘Fighting for the Dukes’, and float builders were told to think military. It started at 5:15 and ended at about 6. Participants included the Mighty Mites, the Knights, and the Outlaws, as well as the Gloucester High School varsity and junior varsity football and cheerleading squads. Also displayed in the parade were NJROTC, GHS marching band, and floats featuring representatives from the classes of ‘22, ‘23, ‘24, ‘25. Most threw candy to bystanders watching.

The Homecoming tailgate party took place on Friday, October 8th in the student parking lot. Students socialized and had the opportunity to buy water from the Gloucester High School chapter of the NAACP, baked goods from FFA, or snow cones from SCA, starting at 5. At about 6, Mrs. Sturtz, the SCA sponsor, announced the beginning of the annual tug-of-war competition. Round One was the freshmen class versus the junior class, and the freshmen class prevailed. For Round Two, the sophomores took on the seniors to their own defeat. Round Three, seniors, the class of 2022, triumphed in the winning of the tournament against the freshmen.

The Homecoming social took place on Saturday, October 9th under the stadium bleachers. Students had free food and water opportunities, as well as the liberty to dance from 4-7. The Homecoming King and Queen, Sam Cook and Cenzy Lindberg got a special song dedicated for a dance for them.

The other members of Homecoming court were seniors Jaidyn Forrest, Kiley Pryor, Liam Wamsley, juniors Taylor Brown, Camden Richardson, and Valiree Vining, sophomore Kendall Pratt, and freshmen Bailey Wilson and Makayla Burmeister.
