On Feb. 7, 2025, there was an incident on the Cincinnati-area highway overpass where a group of men raised flags bearing the swastika on them, waving them around. This has sparked anger and concern from the community. This event highlights how hate symbols and extremist ideologies are persistent and disturbing. The swastika is a symbol notoriously associated with Nazi Germany. This symbol represents violence and hatred. Displaying symbols like that in public spaces is deeply offensive but also a reminder of the rise of hate speech. The event quickly caught the attention of many passersby and once it hit social media, it spread quickly. Witnesses reported spotting the group of men unwrapping their flags, then proudly displaying them by waving them into the air. This provoked the local community and citizens and they began to approach the men. The Cincinnati Police Department responded quickly, attempting to keep the situation from escalating. Videos quickly surfaced of the police holding back people from the community while they shouted, their words going viral and inspiring many. People all around and from the area are wondering why the Neo-Nazis were not arrested, despite the fact they had firearms. This event is a worrisome topic, people are becoming more and more concerned with what seems like an uprising in Nazi propaganda.
