With the holiday season quickly approaching, the Gloucester High School’s student council is putting together a pep-rally to get GHS students excited for winter break.
With all of the set up needed to make this happen, student council member Hannah Cupp was consulted about all the preparation needed to ensure that the pep rally is a success.
According to Cupp, the biggest thing that the student council has to prepare for is, “getting people hyped up.”
This is understandable, as the main job of any pep-rally is to get people excited for what is going to happen, whether it be an upcoming school sporting event or a send-off into a break.
Cupp and the student council are also excited about the games that are going to be taking place at the pep rally. She is confident that it will be “the seniors winning every game.”
Games are another important part of the pep rallies at GHS. Games help to promote inter-class rivalries and camaraderie among the students in the same grade level.
With SCA having to prepare everything for the pep-rally, Cupp also discussed what takes the longest and shortest amount of time to set up.
“The cheer mats take the longest to get ready,” said Cupp. “The games take the less amount of time to get ready”
It is the hope of Cupp and the rest of the SCA that if students know the time and effort that goes into planning each and every pep rally that there will be a larger appreciation for the students involved in their creation.
Leading up to the pep rally, there will be a winter spirit week from Dec. 16 to Dec. 20. SCA encourages everyone to participate, faculty and staff included.
