The first quarter just ended, so the second quarter begins! Many students are preparing for the new quarter in different ways, or learning from mistakes they may have made in the first quarter.
Cherise McCray mentioned some ways she prepared for the second quarter, she explained, “I made sure I had enough motivation so I could have hope to have another quarter with straight A’s.” McCray felt that quarter one and quarter two felt the same since she was in the same classes. When questioned about if she thought that she would improve in the second quarter, McCray mentioned, “I feel like I’m already doing well in Quarter 2, but I feel like my teachers are doing more elaboration on lessons.”
Breanna Hawley prepared for the second quarter by making sure she had all the supplies and made sure she got enough sleep at night. When asked if the second quarter was easier than the first quarter, Hawley stated, “Yes, it has been easier because I am more prepared for the amount of school work I will be doing in the day and I know how to finish it in a timely manner.” Hawley thinks that she will improve in the second quarter since she knows where her classes are and she knows how to manage the workload.
Jayden Sheffield said before the second quarter started, she tried to catch up on all of her work before the second quarter started and tried to do extra work to get her grade up. Sheffield also thinks that the second quarter was easier than the first quarter because she knows where all her classes are and how to work on her own time. When asked about if she thought she would improve in the second quarter, Sheffield replied with, “Yes and no, yes because I know what I’m doing and how I’m doing and I know my teachers, no because now that I know everything I’m going to start slacking and not finish my work.”
There are multiple different ways to prepare for the second quarter: you could get more rest, making sure all your school supplies are ready for the second quarter, or just knowing your classes and teachers.
