Why should we worry about our mental health, and is it even important? How can we deal with our mental health? There are a lot of ways to deal with our mentality that can affect our lives and maybe even other people’s. So, we must find ways to deal with or cope with it.
What is mental health? Mental health is our emotional, psychological, and social well-being, and if not taken care of, it can affect the way you act, think, and feel. Which could lead to very stressful situations. Our mental health is just as important as our psychological health, so just like our psychological health, we have to keep it in the best shape we can. Did you know 1 in 5 adults have mental illness and 1 in 5 youth (13-18)? And 1 in 25 are living with serious mental illness. There are so many mental illnesses that there are also many reasons why people have these mental health problems. Say if someone had a bad childhood, they will make an effort when they get older if they don’t get help or find a way to cope with it. Even a lot of stress can cause a lot of problems if somebody doesn’t know how to cope. They may cope in a very unhealthy way, like drugs and alcohol, which will only lead to more problems.
It can be hard to tell when someone is struggling with their mental health, but there can be signs to look out for if you think a loved one is having a hard time with their mental health. Some of the signs could be changes in sleep or appetite, withdrawal from social interactions, problems with functioning at work or school, and etc. If you think love is struggling with any kind of mental health issue you should talk to them about it. Ask how they are feeling and what is going on with them, and how they feel. This is one of the hardest parts”, but this will be the most effective way to get to someone and show them you care and that they matter in the world. Who knows, you may be able to save someone’s life by just talking to them and checking up on them.
If you feel like you have no one to talk to or no one there to help you. You can always seek help from a therapist, and they will do their best to help you. Everyone’s feelings matter, and everyone needs help at one point in their life. Because not dealing or coping can lead to someone to suicide. 46% of people’s suicides happen because of mental health worldwide.
Mental health isn’t a joke because it causes someone to lose their life. We should do our best to help our loved ones feel love and let them know that they do matter and that their lives mean something in this world. Just talking to someone can change their life and sometimes that’s all someone needs.
