Matthew Perry, born on August 19th, 1969, and died on October 28th, 2023, was a successful actor and book author. He was born to a journalist mother and an actor father, due to this he was put into the spotlight at a young age. He had his major break in the 1994 hit show Friends, which aired until 2004. Around this time Perry was afraid he’d lose his life due to decades of substance abuse which inspired him to try and get sober. He went to rehab during this time and was able to get it together and regain control. Years later in 2011 he once again went to rehab as part of his journey for sobriety. Around 2018, due to his lifelong struggle with addiction, he suffered from an exploded colon and nearly died. He managed to survive but needed a colostomy bag afterward and a machine to help him breathe. In 2023 he had been sober for years and was enjoying healthier things in life such as pickleball which helped him stay sober. After everything he had been through, he had tried helping others become sober and even wrote a book detailing his struggles. Matthew Perry was an amazing actor and man who sadly passed away too soon, may he rest in peace.
