Many know that students feel drained at and during school hours. With even limited research, the difference in how students of different kinds of schools feel about their method is clear. There are various options when it comes to schooling. You can choose to educate in person at a traditional or private school, use a virtual program, home-school, or explore other options.
Many parents wonder if their students will become anti-social or have issues in certain areas throughout life because of the decisions they made about where their child goes to school. Throughout various options, it’s still extremely hard to choose which path your student goes down with education.
Public schools tend to hold the majority of students. Around 49.4 billion students in the US are in the public school system. Many can relate to the “Public School Experience.” Some say that public school is the best thing that can happen to a kid. But, with many risk factors that opinion is quickly changing. With around 1.2 million students being removed from public school systems around the country.
Online schools have been accompanying the families that have left school systems. Online has seemed like a much better option to many families. This option will allow the student to do school wherever they want without having someone there. This option helps the student learn at their own pace and their own timing.
I asked a few students that have switched from public to online what the pros and cons are. Here are their responses; one said “My mental health has been so much better, and I don’t have to worry about all the drama that happens in the school.” Another said, “My life has improved a lot since I’ve been online because I don’t have to stress over my attendance, and I can actually spend time with my family.” Some cons that are listed were the price of being online, you can get kicked out if you don’t pay, you can go to court if you don’t do any work, and if you don’t have any or any good Wi-Fi then you really can’t do any work.
