Eras Tour Movie Review

IMDB

Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour is now on the big screen! Amassing $92.8 million during its opening weekend in the US and Canada and another $30.7 million internationally, totaling $123.5 million, Swift’s movie has quickly become the highest-grossing concert film to hit theaters. However, this is no surprise to anyone who has heard the pop star’s name in the last couple of months, as she has been touring over the summer fans have been going to extremes to see the 3-hour-long live performance encompassing almost 17 years worth of music.

Even with 146 shows across five continents, it is not enough to allow every fan the opportunity to see the concert in person, so the last US tour date was filmed. The film did a fantastic job of capturing Swift’s show, from the stage visuals to close-ups of the star herself, it was all there. Aside from the incredible production, the movie serves as a vessel for bringing people with a common interest together. Patrons showed up to theaters worldwide in anything ranging from simple merchandise to themed outfits with arms of friendship bracelets ready to trade with fellow Swifties.

Even those who don’t consider themselves huge Swifties can find joy in this movie. So grab your popcorn, make some friendship bracelets, and get ready to sing along with your favorite Taylor Swift hits during this blockbuster hit.
