December Students Recognized for Representing The Duke Way

Freshman Rylie Jeffrey. “Rylie is always on task and completing her work. She is engaged in a variety of GHS sponsored activities and is a contribution to our community. Rylie also goes above and beyond in her classes and takes accountability for her learning.” (Photographer, Grace Mares)
Freshman Annalise Hutson – “Anna is a sweet student that comes to class and puts in her best effort. Anna is always prepared for class and respectful to teachers and classmates. Even if a class isn’t her favorite, she still participates and helps other students.”
Sophomore Casey Apeldoorn – “Casey is always respectful to staff members and students. His manners are EXCEPTIONAL. he looks out for other students by helping them with assignments, giving them his notes to copy, making sure they are okay, and walking people to class. He is always engaged in the lesson even if others aren’t and he is always the first one to want to answer. He looks out for his teachers just as much as he looks out for his peers.” (Photographer, Grace Mares)
Sophomore Lauren Landry – “Lauren is always respectful and willing to assist me in class when needed. She always has a smile on her face and makes sure that others do as well. She is prepared and reading for class and excels at her school work.” (Photographer, Grace Mares)
Junior Gabriella Sexton – “Gabby loves learning, and it is such a breath of fresh air to see such a dedicated student. She is responsible in class and always focuses on her assignments. She is respectful, checks in with her peers and is open and honest with her teachers.” (Photographer, Grace Mares)
Junior Maggie Marshfield – “Maggie is a polite student who values her grades and always works hard. When absent from school, she is quick to ask what she missed and follows through with completing the work by the end of the day. Maggie participates in class daily even when unsure of the accuracy of the response. She is respectful towards her classmates and teachers and is always kind and accepting of all her peers.” (Photographer, Grace Mares)
Senior Jessica Smith – “Jessica is always polite, respectful, and gracious. She went out of her way to help a classmate find a last-minute mentor for SIRS when the previous mentor dropped out. The classmate was afraid to ask for help and overwhelmed, Jessica’s help encouraged them. She is especially kind and helpful towards students who have disabilities and aspires to be a paraprofessional after graduating. She is a wonderful TA, hard working, demonstrates maturity, and genuinely cares about those around her.” (Photographer, Grace Mares)
