Having a journal can be beneficial in many different ways. Around 8% of the population owns a journal and finds it helpful. There are many reasons why you should own one if you don’t already.

Coming from my point of view, when you journal there is no right or wrong way. It is however you would like to journal. I personally enjoy writing down positive things I did that I enjoyed. For example, fun events I have going on and how they went. I believe this is helpful because it makes you focus on the positives in your life more than the negatives. With this you can print off pictures to add to the page! A plus is when you look back in your journal you will get to read all the positive things you got to do and look at the picture if you choose to add any.

You can also journal about things that maybe weren’t so positive that happened. This can help you better understand your emotions and get it off your chest. Doing this will also help lessen stress you may be feeling and help put you in a better mood. With writing down negative things, you could write a goal you may want to start. Writing about goals you have and how you are achieving them will help you keep track of your progress. Being able to see how much you have improved and made progress can give you a huge confidence boost and make you feel good about yourself.

  • Journaling can help you achieve your goals
  • Helps you keep track of your goals and progress
  • Can help you better understand yourself
  • Can lessen stress and anxiety
  • Helps you better understand and process your emotions
  • Improves writing and communication skills
  • Can improve memory
  • Improve your confidence

You may be thinking you want to start a journal but you don’t know where to start. First you wanna figure out what method works best for you. Writing in a notebook, typing on a laptop, or even using your notes on your phone. There is no incorrect way to journal. You can write about anything, how your day went, what you did, your emotions that day, what you have coming up, etc. Be creative, having a journal is something for you, make it however you would like. Make it unique, colorful, or it can just be a plain black pin and paper. It is yours to create.

There are so many reasons why you should start a journal. Journaling is something personal to you. You can write whatever you want and anyway you want. I hope you found this helpful.
