Many musicians get themselves into controversial situations because they believe that “any attention is good attention.” Nonetheless did Ye West go too far with it? If you don’t know what I’m talking about, Ye West, formerly known as “Kanye,” attended Paris Fashion Week wearing a “White Lives Matter” shirt and claimed that George Floyd died from fentanyl rather than the former police officer. He has also made numerous anti-Semitic remarks about the Jewish religion. Is Ye insane or a marketing genius is the question we must ask.

Donda West, Ye’s mother died unexpectedly on November 10th 2007 due to cosmetic surgery and Ye hasn’t been the same since. Ye was on stage just 12 days after his mother’s death, fighting back tears as he dedicated his song “Hey Mama” to her. On August 29th, 2021 Kanye released the album  “Donda” and some time after his divorce to Kim Kardashian is when people started to notice the change in his behavior.

Ye decided to make his divorce very public and would constantly post on Instagram with comments claiming Kim wouldn’t let him visit his kids when pictures showed them together. Ye went off the rails when Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson started dating. In the album “Donda,” Ye included these lyrics in his song “Eazy” “”God saved me from that crash / Just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s *ss.” After this Ye repeatedly harassed Kim and Pete’s relationship on the internet.

It has been rumored that Ye has wanted to drop Adidas because “they take too much money from him.” After Ye’s anti-Semitic remarks, Adidas promptly dropped him. In 2020, rumors claimed Adidas took 1-2 billion dollars from the Yeezy brand. So we have to ask, could this rumor be true? Many brands have dropped Ye since the comments. He took it too far this time, but did he plan this?
