He’s brooding, he’s dark, he’s handsome, and he’s a vampire; no wait, this time around, he’s a bat. Robert Pattinson, well known for his role as Edward Cullen, recently took up a new challenging role: Batman.
This time around, we follow the famed superhero and the equally notorious Riddler throughout the streets of Gotham. The Riddler seeks to destroy the sins of the city, killing anyone connected to a large conspiracy he promises to reveal to the public at the end of his purge.
While attempting to unravel the aforementioned conspiracy, Batman meets Catwoman, who is played by Zoe Kravitz. Their romance throughout the film is a bit disappointing, and there was more chemistry between the actors during their promo photoshoot than in the actual film.
Another negative of the movie was the harrowing three hour duration. At least an hour of the feature could have been cut, and the plot would have still made sense. By the end of the movie, most of the audience members were yawning and or rushing for the bathroom.
Although the film was far too long and the romance lacked depth, the superb acting and amazing cinematography made up for it. Every bit of the movie was gorgeous, especially Bruce Wayne’s apartment. Even if you aren’t a fan of action and gore, the interior design is well worth the watch.
Overall what the movie lacked it made up for. I would highly recommend it to anyone willing to sit through it, again let me reiterate it was three hours long, but I promise you’ll enjoy it.
