The football games played by the NFL on Thanksgiving have been a tradition for many years. There have always been exciting games played and this year did not disappoint.

The first game that was played was the matchup between the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears. Both teams have struggled to get a win this year. The Detroit Lions are still looking for their first win of the season. The Lions came close to their first win the week before against the Steelers. The game was very close the whole time, but The Lions were outdone 16-14. They will continue to search for their first victory of the season.

The second game played was between the Dallas Cowboys and the Las Vegas Raiders. The Cowboys were leading the NFC East with a record of 7-3. The Raiders were struggling to get their season over .500, a winning record. The game would’ve been an important win for both teams and even more important that the game was on Thanksgiving day. The game’s score went back and forth, lasting until overtime. Dallas had the ball first and were unable to get it down the field. When the raiders got the ball they drove into field goal range, and kicked the field goal and won the game. A devastating loss for the cowboys
